What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible is the sole authority and supreme standard for all human conduct. The Bible is the complete, inerrant and infallible word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Salvation
All men are sinners and are in need of God’s forgiveness. The new birth gives spiritual life to the spiritually dead. It redeems a soul from hell, initiates a personal relationship with God and is simultaneous with the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. John 3:3; 5; 7
Salvation comes by God’s grace, through faith. It is a gift of God and cannot be earned. Ephesians 2:8-9
The Trinity
We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1, 2:7; John 1:1-18, 29; 14:16-17, 26
Baptism
Baptism is by immersion and is the first of two ordinances of the church and follows salvation. It is a step of obedience, an external symbol of an inward reality and a public statement of faith.
Romans 6:4
The Lord's Supper
The Lord’s Supper, or communion of the Saints, is the second ordinance of the church. Its practice and elements symbolize the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We observe it in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice for us.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Evangelism
It is the responsibility of every Christian and church to spread the gospel of Christ. Matthew 28:19-20
Church Membership
A new birth experience is a prerequisite to church membership.
Acts 2:47
Autonomy of the Local Church
The head of the church is Jesus Christ and the local church is independent of any outside control.
Matthew 18:15-17; Acts 13:1-3; I Corinthians 5:1-13; II Corinthians 8 & 9
Stewardship
God is the source of all blessings and is the owner of all things. Christians, in accordance with the Scripture, are to support the ongoing work of the local church and missions through their regular tithes and offerings.
Malachi 3:8-12; I Corinthians 4:1-2; 6:19-20
